What are Fortnite Power Rankings?
Fortnite Power Rankings (PR) are the new universal skill rating for Competitive Fortnite. Your Battle Royale and Reload tournament results, plus your seasonal results in those Ranked Modes will build toward your individual Power Ranking. Updated weekly, you can track your global standing, share with friends, and follow your favorite players.
Getting Started
Your initial Power Ranking will be determined by looking back at your Battle Royale and Reload tournament results over the past two years. Compete in the many tournaments offered each week to climb higher in the Power Rankings.
If you haven’t competed in more than 20 events in the past two years, you will be in an Initial Rating Period. During this time, your PR will adjust upwards as you play, so make sure to compete in 20 events to reach a PR that fully represents your skill!
We will continue refining calculations and adding modes as our competitive offerings evolve.
What counts?
Your Power Ranking is based on your 20 best Battle Royale and Reload tournaments, plus your current seasonal Ranked tiers in BR and Reload.
No ratings risk
Go all out in every tournament without worrying about your score. A great tournament can boost your rating and be added to your Top 20 results, but a tough one won't hurt it.
Event weight
Some tournaments carry more weight than others. Playing well in more challenging tournaments like FNCS will give your Power Ranking a bigger boost.
Strength of Opponents
Competing with the best pays off. Doing well against players with higher Power Rankings helps your rating. Seeking out tougher competition can be the opportunity to elevate your rating.
Updated Weekly
Power Rankings are planned to update weekly. New tournament results will have the most impact, while older ones slowly count for less. This keeps the leaderboard fresh and reflects how you’re playing right now.
Understanding Power Rankings Decay
To keep the leaderboards fresh and accurate, your Power Rankings rating will decay, or reduce in value over time, as older tournament results age.
- 0-180 Days: Your tournament results stay at 100% value.
- 180-720 Days: After six months, the value of that result slowly drops downwards.
- 720+ Days (2 Years): After 720 days, the result does not contribute to your Power Ranking.
Ranked Resets: Seasonal Ranked resets may temporarily reduce PR as players rank back up in the new season.
