Battle Royale

Where can I download Battle Royale?

You can download Battle Royale in the following places:

Do I need an internet connection to play Fortnite?

Yes. A stable internet connection is necessary to play Fortnite.

How can I report another player?

You can use the in-game Feedback tool located in the Main Menu. There is also an option to report a player in-game while spectating them.

Please send all player reports to our Player Support team.

How do you handle teamers in solo play?

We’ve built a system to automatically ban teamers in solo play.

How are you handling cheaters (aimbots, overlays, etc.)?

We take cheating very seriously on both a legal and game development front. We don’t want to tip our hand by talking in-depth about how we combat cheating.

Cheaters are permanently banned across Fortnite.

What is the Battle Pass?

You can learn more about the Battle Pass here.

Will I keep everything I earned with the Battle Pass after the Season ends?

Yes, you will! Every item earned through the Battle Pass will remain in your inventory permanently. More information on the Battle Pass and its end date can be found here.

What is shared between Battle Royale and Save the World?

V-Bucks, Outfits, Back Blings, Pickaxes, Wraps, Emotes, Loading Screens, Banners, and Lobby Music are shared between Battle Royale and Save the World. (Gliders and Contrails are not shared, as these items are not applicable to Save the World.)

Note: Over the coming months, Save the World will no longer be able to support all upcoming Fortnite Battle Royale cosmetic purchases, but players' existing library of cosmetics will continue to function in both modes. We’ll let everyone know when this change will take place.

Is Fortnite Battle Royale pay-to-win?

No. We do not sell items that give a competitive advantage.

Can I play Battle Royale on PC with a controller?

Yes! We support controller compatibility on PC.

How do I change my preferred language?

  • Once in-game, navigate to the drop-down Options menu on the top right of the client.
  • Click the gear icon in the Settings.
  • Select the Game tab at the top of the screen.
  • Confirm your preferred language in the Region section.
  • Once you’ve finished, be sure to apply your changes.

Which PlayStation systems is Fortnite available on?

  • PlayStation 5
  • PlayStation 4 / PlayStation 4 Pro

Can I play Fortnite in 120 FPS on PlayStation 5?

Yes! 120 FPS is supported in Fortnite Battle Royale/Creative on PlayStation 5. 

To play Battle Royale/Creative at 120 FPS on PlayStation 5, enter the Fortnite Video settings and toggle on “120 FPS Mode.” In order to achieve a consistent 120 FPS, max resolution on PlayStation 5 is lowered from 4K to 1440p in this mode. Shadow settings, postprocessing, and streaming distances are slightly reduced, but volumetric clouds, physical rim lighting, and high-quality shaders remain enabled.

Please note: For the "120 FPS Mode" option to appear in Fortnite on PlayStation 5, please make sure "Performance Mode" is enabled in your console settings (Save Data and Game/App Settings > Game Presets > Performance Mode). Players must have a display supporting 120Hz refresh rate to enable 120 FPS Mode.

For players who prefer 4K over 120 FPS, please make sure "Performance Mode" isn't enabled in your PlayStation 5 console settings. 

Do I need PlayStation Plus to play Fortnite?

No, you do not need PlayStation Plus in order to play Fortnite on PlayStation.

Xbox

Which Xbox systems is Fortnite available on?

  • Xbox Series X / Xbox Series S
  • Xbox One / Xbox One X / Xbox One S

Can I play Fortnite in 120 FPS on Xbox Series X|S?

Yes! 120 FPS is supported in Fortnite Battle Royale/Creative on Xbox Series X|S.

To play Battle Royale/Creative at 120 FPS on Xbox Series X|S, enter the Fortnite Video settings and toggle on “120 FPS Mode.” In order to achieve a consistent 120 FPS, max resolution on Xbox Series X is lowered from 4K to 1440p in this mode. Shadow settings, postprocessing, and streaming distances are slightly reduced, but volumetric clouds, physical rim lighting, and high-quality shaders remain enabled.

Fortnite players on Xbox Series S can turn on “120 FPS Mode” at 1080p resolution. In 120 FPS Mode on Xbox Series S, shadow resolution and other settings are reduced and volumetric clouds are disabled.

Please note: If you're playing on Xbox Series X|S, make sure 120Hz is turned on in your console's display settings. Players must have a display supporting 120Hz refresh rate to enable 120 FPS Mode.
 

Do I need Xbox Live Gold to play Fortnite?

No, you do not need Xbox Live Gold in order to play Fortnite on Xbox.

Nintendo Switch

Do I need a Nintendo Switch Online membership to play Fortnite Battle Royale and Fortnite Creative?

No, you do not need a Nintendo Switch Online membership in order to play Fortnite Battle Royale and Fortnite Creative on Nintendo Switch.

Is Save the World coming to the Nintendo Switch?

No, we currently don’t have any plans to bring Save the World to the Nintendo Switch.

Is Creative mode available on the Nintendo Switch?

Yes, Creative mode is available in the Nintendo Switch version of the game.

Android

How can I play Fortnite on my Android device?

You can download Fortnite on Android via the Epic Games App on the Samsung Galaxy Store or epicgames.com. Google has blocked your ability to update or install Fortnite via Google Play. Players with Fortnite currently installed on their Android device via Google Play can still play version 13.40 of Fortnite.

What are the minimum device specifications to play Fortnite?

Fortnite is a high-fidelity game that is compatible with devices running 64-bit Android on an ARM64 processor, Android OS 8.0 or higher, minimum 4GB of RAM, and GPU: Adreno 530 or higher, Mali-G71 MP20, Mali-G72 MP12 or higher.

Are Bluetooth headsets supported on Android devices?

Yes. We currently support the use of Bluetooth headsets for audio usage but not for voice chat.

Is voice chat available on Android devices?

Yes, voice chat is available on Android devices. (Note that voice chat on Android devices is not available through Bluetooth headsets.)

Are Bluetooth controllers supported on Android devices?

Yes. On Android, we support most Bluetooth controller adapters, such as:

Does Fortnite support mouse + keyboard on Android devices?

No, mouse + keyboard is not supported on Android devices. If you use mouse + keyboard on Android, you will be removed from the match.

Can I customize the HUD on Android?

Yes, the HUD is customizable. Just tap the settings in-game and click the HUD Layout Tool. The HUD Layout Tool allows the player to move, resize, and add buttons from the extra section!

Is Save the World coming to Android devices?

No, we currently do not have any plans to bring Save the World to mobile devices.

Is Creative mode available on Android devices?

Yes, Creative mode is available on Android devices.

Does Fortnite support rooted devices?

No, rooted devices are not supported. We’re looking into the possibility of supporting rooted devices in the future, provided we can find effective anti-cheat solutions.

iOS

How can I play Fortnite on my iOS device?

Apple has blocked your ability to update or install Fortnite on iOS devices. Players with Fortnite currently installed on their iOS device can still play version 13.40 of Fortnite.

Which iOS devices are NOT compatible with Fortnite?

Fortnite does not support: iPhone 5S, 6, 6 Plus; iPad Air, Mini 2, 3; iPod Touch 6th gen and lower.

Creative

How can I download Fortnite Creative?

Fortnite Creative is included free as part of Fortnite Battle Royale!

How can I find Fortnite Creative?

The  Creative playlist can now be found in the Discover menu in the “By Epic” row. It can also be found in the “Recently Played” section if applicable and your “My Favorites” section if you choose to add it there for easier access.

How do I create a new map?

After joining the player hub, walk to your personal rift and press the interact button. Then choose “Create New Island.”

How does Island memory work?

Islands have a maximum memory limit of 100k. Each asset within Creative is designated with a memory value, and the total sum of the assets is tracked at the top of your screen.

How do I play or test my Island?

Open up your settings and choose “My Island.” Choose “Start Game” in the GAME tab.

How can I input an Island code?

Walk towards any portal and use the interact button. Input the 12-digit Island code to load the Island at that portal.

I don’t have permissions to publish my Island. How do I get these?

At the moment, the Island Publishing features are tied to the Support-A-Creator program. You can apply to the system online at: https://www.epicgames.com/affiliate/overview

If you're posting and sharing outstanding Creative builds online and getting positive feedback and attention on places like Reddit, it's also possible that you'll be contacted by Epic Games directly about getting into the Support-A-Creator program.

How do I publish my Island?

Once you’ve been approved for Island Publishing, you’ll find a new button labeled “Publish” in My Island > Island Tools. From there, you’ll be able to title your Island, add a description, and attach a video to link so you can show off your Island online.

How do I share my Island with other people?

After publishing an Island, you will be given a 12-digit Island code that can be shared with friends.

Save the World

Which platform(s) can I play Fortnite Save the World on?

  • PlayStation 5
  • PlayStation 4 / PlayStation 4 Pro

Apple is preventing us from signing games for distribution on Mac, which ends our ability to develop and offer Fortnite Save the World for the platform. As a result, Fortnite Save the World is no longer playable on Mac.

Where can I find Save the World in Discover?

The Save the World playlist can now be found in the Discover menu under the “By Epic” row. It can also be found in the “Recently Played” row if applicable and your “My Favorites” row if you chose to add it there.

Is Save the World purchasable in Discover?

Yes! You can purchase Save the World through Discover. To begin the purchase process, select the Save the World tile in the Discover menu. From there, it will lead you to the store where you can purchase the latest Save the World Starter Pack that will grant you access to Save the World.

If I buy Save the World on PC, can I play it on other platforms without repurchasing?

Yes! In order to do this, you must link your non-PC accounts to your Epic ID. 

Can I still purchase a Founder's Pack?

No, the Save the World Founder's Packs have been retired. However, you can still gain access to Save the World by purchasing a Save the World Pack, which you can find on our website, inside Fortnite, or on your console's storefront.

I’m having some trouble with my Save the World Pack purchase. What do I do?

Please email our Support team at fortnitehelp.epicgames.com for assistance regarding a Save the World Pack purchased on PC. For a Save the World Pack purchased on PlayStation or Xbox, please reach out to the support team of your specific platform.

If I purchase a Save the World Pack on your website, can I play it on PlayStation and/or Xbox?

Yes! In order to gain access on PlayStation and/or Xbox, players must link their PlayStation Network account and/or Xbox account to their Epic Games account. You can link these here.

If I buy a Save the World Pack on one platform, can I play Save the World on other supported platforms? Are my items and progress shared across platforms?

Yes. If your platform accounts are linked to your Epic Games account, all purchased content is present and all progress is recorded across every platform on which these accounts are linked.

Can I play Save the World on PC with a controller?

Yes! We support controller compatibility on PC.

Can you share V-Bucks between Save the World and Battle Royale?

Yes, you can! Any V-Bucks earned/bought in Save the World or Battle Royale can be spent in the other game mode.

What else is shared between Save the World and Battle Royale?

General Cross-Platform Functionality

Do I still have access to all my items and progress on all other platforms?

Yes. As long as you’ve linked your platform account(s) to your Epic Games account, all purchased content is present and all progress is recorded across all supported platforms.

Important: If you have progress or cosmetics on your PlayStation Network or Xbox account, then attempt to link it to an Epic Games account with existing progress or cosmetics, your PlayStation Network or Xbox account will be overwritten. To prevent this from happening, we recommend linking your console account to an Epic Games account when you begin playing Fortnite on your console.

 

Can I party up with friends on other platforms?

Yes, as long as you’ve linked your platform account to your Epic Games account, you can crossplay with players on all other supported platforms as long as they’re playing on the same Fortnite version. Fortnite on iOS, Mac, and Google Play remains on version 13.40, as Apple and Google have blocked access to Fortnite updates on these platforms.
 

How do I squad up with friends on other platforms?

  • Link your platform account(s) to your Epic Games account.
  • Download Fortnite on your preferred device(s).
  • Add your friends from within the Epic Games Launcher or within the game itself on PC/Mac, mobile, PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch.
  • Set your in-game Privacy setting to either "Public" or "Friends."
  • Select Duos or Squads mode.

Are stats and leaderboards shared across platforms?

No, stats and leaderboards are per platform.

Where can I report bugs and send other feedback about the game?

The best way to report bugs is via the Reporting/Feedback tool in-game. Using the Reporting/Feedback tool provides us logs and other valuable information to help us better address your issue. 

You can also report bugs by posting on any of our supported social channels or filling out a Player Support ticket. You can post on our supported social channels to send other feedback about the game as well.

Battle Breakers and Fortnite Crossover

How do I unlock Save the World (STW) content in Battle Breakers (BB)?

Complete the following actions in STW and then redeem the Hero by launching BB, completing the tutorial, and clicking the gift box icon on the right side of the world map.
 
  • Complete the “Shoot for the High Score!” quest in STW to unlock Jess in BB.
  • Complete the “Climbing the Leaderboard!” quest in STW to unlock Kyle.
  • All existing STW Founders have been granted Ramirez in BB.

To unlock Battle Breakers (BB) content in Save the World (STW):

Get to account level 20 in BB to unlock the Ninja-Class Hero Razor in STW.

Are my V-Bucks bound to the platform I purchase/redeem them on?

V-Bucks purchased/redeemed on one platform are available on all other platforms that support Fortnite Shared Wallet: PC, Xbox consoles, PlayStation consoles, cloud gaming services, and Android.

V-Bucks purchased/redeemed on Nintendo Switch can only be spent on that platform and will not appear if you log in on a different platform.

V-Bucks unlocked through the Battle Pass, Quest Packs, or earned in Save the World can be seen and spent across all platforms. All items acquired with V-Bucks, gameplay, rewards or giveaways, and more can be accessed across all platforms as well.

What is Fortnite Shared Wallet?

Fortnite Shared Wallet allows V-Bucks purchased or redeemed on one supported platform to be visible and usable on all other supported platforms.

The platforms that currently support Fortnite Shared Wallet are: PC, PlayStation consoles, Xbox consoles, cloud gaming services, and Android. Check out our announcement blog for more information:

I purchased V-Bucks on a platform that supports Fortnite Shared Wallet, but I don’t see them on another platform that supports it. What should I do?

Make sure that the account you’re logging into Fortnite with is the same Epic Games account, or connected to the same Epic Games account (if you’re logging in on console), that you use across all your platforms.

If you purchased V-Bucks through the PlayStation Store, you must first log into Fortnite on PlayStation to enable these V-Bucks to be accessible across all other Fortnite Shared Wallet platforms. The same is true for logging into Fortnite on Xbox in order to access V-Bucks purchased on the Microsoft Store.

I see an error when I attempt to install the Epic Games launcher. It says “the installation package is not supported by this processor type”.

A 64-bit OS is required to install the Epic Games launcher and to run Fortnite.
