Competitive Rules Reminder, Payments Update, and FNCS Issues

Competitive Play Rules Reminders

With all of the new online tournaments we’ve been running this season, we wanted to take some time to address a few questions we’ve received regarding our tournament rules and guidelines.

Age Requirements
You must be at least 13 years old in order to participate in any Fortnite competitive event. Additionally, if you are under 18 or the age of majority where you live, you must have permission from your parent or legal guardian to participate (their assistance will also be needed when attempting to claim any prizing).

Anyone participating in an event who does not meet the age requirements mentioned above will be disqualified from that event. Any prize or points associated with that event and all previous ones you may have been awarded will be forfeit.

Team Disqualifications
On the topic of disqualification, if any member of your team is disqualified from an event for any reason, then the entire team will be disqualified for that event. All team members will lose any prize or points in connection with that event.

Two-Factor Authentication Requirements
Remember to turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) as all of our competitive events require all participants to have it enabled. If it’s disabled, the game will block you from queueing up for an event.

We’ve been seeing people run into this issue more often in the past few weeks, so if you need some help getting this set up, please refer to our official instructions on how to enable 2FA here.

If you’re ever unsure of anything, please refer back to the official rules that are posted online for every event. You can review the rules for Season X Cash Cups here. Find all the rules for the Fortnite Champion Series: Trios events here.

Competitive Payments Update
In the past few months we’ve been implementing a new payment system through which the vast majority of our payments are now handled. We will be continuing to improve this process to be more clear and transparent for players.

Season X Cash Cup and FNCS prize winners should expect updates on their prizes soon as we work through our final internal steps to verify all required information. Please see our payment status charts below for the latest updates.

As always, if there are any payment related questions, please reach out to [email protected]

FNCS Week 3 Issues
This past weekend, we experienced an issue that caused problems with our login and party services. Since it was unclear exactly when this issue would be resolved, we opted to delay all regions matches until things were more stable.

We know that many of you go to great lengths to adjust your schedules to match up with the tournaments and we're sorry for the trouble this outage caused you.
