Competitors! We hope you’ve had a chance to hone your skills during this year’s Fortnite Competitive action. With 2025 rapidly approaching, it's time to look ahead to an exciting year of FNCS — featuring Trios!
Introducing the Blade of Champions
FNCS Global Champions Peterbot and Pollo will wield the brand new Blade of Champions, becoming the first players to wield this Pickaxe! Replacing the Axe of Champions, the Blade of Champions will be wielded throughout the year by Fortnite’s best competitors, with only a select few being rewarded with this prestigious item.
Each season, the Blade of Champions will be passed to the victorious trios of the following Major. Peterbot and Pollo will wield the blade from November until the conclusion of Major 1. After that, the battle for the Blade — as well as the title of FNCS champion — will continue throughout the year!
Champion Drake FNCS Community Cup
To celebrate the release of the Blade of Champions, we’ll be hosting the Champion Drake FNCS Community Cup on November 17th! Jump into this Duos Battle Royale Community Cup for a shot at competing for prizes such as:
- Salute the Champ Spray (8 points)
- FNCS Warrior Back Bling (40 points)
- The FNCS Champion Drake Bundle (Top 200 placement in OCE, Asia, ME, and BR. Top 1,000 placement in NAC. Top 1,200 placement in EU)
The Salute the Champ Spray and FNCS Warrior Back Bling are cosmetic rewards that can be earned separately in the Champion Drake FNCS Community Cup.
The FNCS Champion Drake Bundle is purchasable in the Fortnite Shop and earnable in the Champion Drake FNCS Community Cup for top regional performers.
Details and eligibility requirements can be found in the compete tab in game.
FNCS CHAPTER 6 OVERVIEW
FNCS will return in 2025, starting the last week of January! This year, FNCS competitors will compete for a grand total of $8,000,000 across all regions and events.
Beginning with the launch of Chapter 6, the North America tournament region will return to a two-region split in order to offer improved scheduling and flexibility for all tournaments. The two regions for the coming year will be North America West and North America Central. We’ll continue to evaluate tournament server locations, and may make additional changes in the future.
HOW TO QUALIFY FOR AN FNCS MAJOR
Revamped with a new format based around a divisional structure, similar to previous years of FNCS, each Major will consist of a Play-In Stage, Group Stage, Last Chance Qualifier, and of course, the Major Finals.
In Season 1, players will be drafted into Division 1, 2, or 3 based on their performance in the FNCS Trial, which takes place on December 7th, 2024. For subsequent seasons, players will be initially re-seeded based on their highest placement in the prior season.
Each week, competitors in each Division will have the opportunity to earn advancement to a higher division or prize money in the Division 1 Final. Later in the season, Division 1 competition will pivot towards FNCS, kicking off with the Play-In stage.
More details about Divisional Cups will be shared in next season’s competitive blog.
PLAY-IN STAGE
Each Major begins with the Play-In Stage! Players in Division 1 can trio up and compete for spots in the Group Stage. The Play-In Stage will consist of two days of competition with a cumulative leaderboard. The top trios on the leaderboard (top 99 in EU and NAC, top 66 in all other regions) will then be seeded into the Group Stage.
GROUP STAGE
The Group Stage will consist of three groups in EU and NAC, and two groups in all other regions. Every Victory Royale in the Group Stage is an instant qualification to the Major Finals! The most consistent trios in each group (top five in EU and NAC, top 10 in all other regions) will also advance to the Major Finals.
LAST CHANCE QUALIFIER
If you didn’t advance past the Group Stage, worry not — you still have a last chance at FNCS glory! The Last Chance Qualifier is open to all players in Divisions 1, 2 and 3. This event will conclude with the Last Chance Lobby, where the Victory Royale winners of each match will earn their ticket to the Major Finals!
MAJOR FINALS
Each FNCS Major concludes with the Major Finals, a two-day event with 12 matches to crown the FNCS Major champions.
The Major champions will not only claim their share of the prize pool — and their title as the best Fortnite players in the region — but will also wield the Blade of Champions for the following season, displaying their achievement for all to see!

FNCS 2025 format for EU and NAC, with three group stages per region.
