New Season, new tournaments! Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 6 Season 3 is here, complete with an all-new format for Ranked Cups that will see players of all rank tiers queuing for the same matches. Check out these reformatted Cups for your chance to unlock the Ranker’s Utopia Umbrella.
There are also Performance Evals, Console Victory Cash Cups, and a PlayStation Cup. Additionally, the countdown is on for the FNCS Major 3 this July, with the Divisional Cups set to begin June 18!
New Ranked Cup Format
Previously, Ranked Cups were a collection of separate Cups, based on rank tiers.
This slowed matchmaking times, prevented friends in different rank tiers from playing together, and bottlenecked matchmaking in the highest ranks during rank resets.
During Chapter 6 Season 3, all rank tiers will queue into the same matches. This means competitors will be able to queue into a match with teammates of ANY rank tier. Matchmaking will prioritize similar-ranked opponents based on the highest rank in your team. (Or in a Solo tournament, based on your own rank.)
Ranked Cup leaderboards will be displayed separately for each rank tier. Gold will compete against Gold on the leaderboard, Unreal against Unreal, etc.
Players of all ranks… together at last. Earn at least 50 points in any Ranked Cup this Season to unlock the Ranker’s Utopia Umbrella!
More Tournament Offerings this Season
Performance Evals
Typically held in the EU and NAC server regions, Performance Evaluations are Battle Royale events that give our development team valuable data used to improve future tournaments. Competitors must have qualified for Division 1 in this Chapter’s FNCS Divisional Cups to participate!
Console Victory Cash Cups
Give new meaning to “console warrior” in the Console Victory Cash Cups. The rules of these two-round events are simple: first qualify for Round 2, then earn a cash prize for every Victory Royale you get during that round!
Because these are Console Victory Cash Cups, only players on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch are eligible to enter. However, your teammate can be on the same or different console type. Matches will be in the Duos format.
PlayStation Cup
On the topic of consoles, grab your DualShock or DualSense and jump into the Solo PlayStation Cup. The Qualifiers happen July 24, with the Finals happening July 26. Compete for a share of the cash prize!
FNCS Divisional Cups
FNCS Divisional Cups are back for Chapter 6 Season 3!
There will be two Divisional Cups this Season. As usual, players will be placed into one of three Divisions: 1, 2, or 3 — based on their performance in previous Divisional Cups. Players currently not in a Division who've reached Gold or higher in Ranked will start in Division 3.
Division 1 players who emerge victorious in the Finals will walk away with cash prizes, while top performers in Division 2 and 3 will be promoted to the Division above.
Here’s the schedule:
-
First Divisional Cup
-
Qualifying Rounds: Wednesday, June 18, and Thursday, June 19, for all Divisions
-
Finals: Saturday, June 21
-
-
Second Divisional Cup
-
Qualifying Rounds: Wednesday, June 25, and Thursday, June 26, for all Divisions
-
Finals: Saturday, June 28
-
Players who achieve Division 1 will be eligible to participate in the FNCS Major 3 Play-In Stage starting July 16. Major 3 is the last opportunity to earn an invite to the Fortnite Global Championship in Lyon - Décines, France! Check out our FNCS 2025 blog post for more info.
Fortnite Competitive FAQ
Where online can I find the tournament schedule and rules library?
You can find the Season’s tournament schedule in the Compete tab in-game or on fortnite.com/competitive.
And you can find the rules library at fortnite.com/competitive/rules-guidelines/rules-library.
Can I compete in multiple server regions this Season?
For all events this Season except FNCS Major 3, players can compete in any region they want.
However, in FNCS Divisional Cups, once a player participates in a Divisional Cup in a region, they're locked to that Division in that region for that week.
For example:
-
Once a player plays in EU Div 1, they cannot play in EU Div 2 or EU Div 3 for that week.
-
The player is free to play in another region's Div Cups (1, 2, or 3) as long as they're qualified for that Division in that region.
-
What is the best way to report a suspected cheater in tournaments?
Please report any suspicious activity through the reporting tools in Fortnite and through our official Tournament Support Discord server. (You can also use this Discord server to report any issues or bugs experienced during tournament gameplay.)
Why haven't I received my tournament prize?
If you’re eligible to collect a prize, our goal is to notify you within 30 days of the completion of the event. Sometimes, notifications take longer as results are verified and entered into our system.
If you have not been notified within 60 days, please contact Player Support.
What is the “14 tournaments” criterion and how do I meet it?
With the launch of Battle Royale Chapter 6 Season 1, we added a new requirement for events necessitating an Account Level of 350.
To compete in a Performance Evaluation, FNCS Trial, FNCS Divisional Cup, FNCS Major, or Solo Cash Cup, players must have participated in at least 14 different tournaments within the last 180 days.
If you don't meet the new requirement, feel free to participate in events like Ranked Cups or OG Cups, which will contribute to the 14 tournaments needed.
Note: Playing multiple rounds or regions in the same tournament will not count as separate tournaments.
