Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 FNCS Details

Competitors,

It’s time to kick off the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) for Chapter 3 Season 3! Starting July 6, 2022, you’ll have the opportunity to compete for a share of 3 million dollars. Keep reading for details on prizing, format, and more!

Chapter 3 Season 3 FNCS Begins July 6

As stated in our Seasonal Fortnite Competitive Update, the Chapter 3 Season 3 FNCS will take place beginning on July 6. In addition, this season’s FNCS will also feature a new point format for the later rounds to encourage both aggression and survival for the Victory Royale. Let’s break down the dates:

Qualifiers (July 6-10, July 11-15, July 16-18)

Just like last season, we will host 3 Qualifier rounds this season to provide several chances to qualify! The top five teams from each Qualifier will advance directly to the FNCS Finals, for a total of 15 teams. Each Qualifier will take place across four Rounds, with the fourth Round having one set lobby competing to qualify. You may have already noticed that the point format has changed in single lobby rounds, that’s because we are offering a new point format this season focused more on providing a balance between both placement points and elimination points. This new point format will apply to all single lobby rounds within FNCS Qualifiers, Semi-Finals, and Finals.

We are also decreasing the number of players that qualify from Round 2 to Round 3 of each qualifier down to 250 teams per region.

Semi-Finals (July 21-24)

Victory Royales and consistent performance will be the key to qualifying for the FNCS Finals. For any Session, you’ll either need to win a game or be one of the top six most consistent teams during that Session to advance to the Finals.

Session 1

  • Top 50 teams from the Series Point Leaderboard from each region.
  • Consists of five matches.
  • 11 teams from this Session will advance to the Finals.
    • 5 Victory Royale winners and the top 6 consistent teams.

Session 2

  • Filled with the 11 vacant team spots by the 51st-61st teams on the Series Point Leaderboard.
  • Consists of six matches.
  • This 50-team lobby will run five matches and advance 12 teams to the Finals.
    • 6 Victory Royale winners and the top 6 consistent teams.

Session 3

  • Filled with the 13 vacant team spots by the 62nd-73rd teams on the Series Point Leaderboard.
  • Consists of six matches.
  • This 50-team lobby will compete across six matches and advance 12 total teams to the Finals.
    • 6 Victory Royale winners and the top 6 consistent teams.

Here’s a condensed description of how Finals advancement works for each day:

  1. Session 1: 5 Matches; 2.5 Hours; 1st - 50th on the Series Points Leaderboard
  2. Session 3: 6 Matches; 3 Hours; 1st - 61st on the Series Points Leaderboard
  3. Session 3: 6 Matches; 3 Hours; 1st - 73rd on the Series Points Leaderboard

Finals (August 12-14)

FNCS Finals this season will be taking place after Epic Summer Break so that the Epic team can take some time to recharge for the upcoming Fortnite Competitive Season. There are two ways to be crowned FNCS Champions this season.

The first path to winning the FNCS Finals is by achieving Match Point. With Match Point, a duo team can end the competition early by earning 475 total points and three Victory Royales. Once a team has met both of these thresholds, they will be declared the FNCS Champions! Match Point is extremely challenging to achieve and only possible for a completely dominant performance.

The second path to winning the FNCS Finals is to be the team that earns the most points after all 12 matches are played. If no team is able to achieve Match Point by the 12th match, then the team with the most cumulative points at the end of the 12th match will be crowned FNCS Champions! Please see below for this season’s Match Point Threshold:

Victory Royales: 3
Points Earned: 475
